Rethinking Everything for a Creative Firm
Situation
NicholsBooth, one of San Francisco’s most-established interior architecture and design studios, has developed spaces for notable technology, commercial, and healthcare clients, both nationally and internationally, since 1994. As the 35-person firm, led by Gary Nichols, looked toward the future and the appointment of a new principal, the team saw an opportunity to move away from the typical name-it-after-the-founders approach. Instead, they wanted a brand identity that articulated the energy and passion of their people and the creative quality of their work.
Strategy
The firm’s new name, Revel Architecture & Design, highlights their fresh, client-focused, creative approach to design. Our partner, Brick Design, developed a vibrant identity system to channel new energy throughout the organization and bring new life to their communications, from business cards to a redesigned website.
“We chose the new name—Revel Architecture & Design—to embody our collective culture of creativity. We create dynamic, genuine design solutions that inspire as well as perform; we love what we do and revel in our work, start to finish.” —Gary Nichols, President and CEO
“We love bringing a client’s vision to life. Our new name embodies our passion for what we do, from how we guide clients through the design process to the ways we collaborate and solve problems.” —Scott Clement, COO and Principal
Results
Revel launched their new identity and website in June 2017. Clients and staff alike immediately felt a renewed sense of commitment and energy to their work. The new name and identity, with its spirited focus on the future, will help the firm as it expands, bringing its creativity and ingenuity to long-term and new clients, in the Bay Area and beyond.
